Could you provide any updates on your experience? I’m looking it and it’s hard to find actual folks like you who have hands on experience provide real feedback. ]]> Comment on A Baby WYSE, the 3040 by Kroy https://blog.kroy.io/2020/01/17/the-baby-wyse-the-dell-3040/#comment-697 Tue, 07 Apr 2020 17:12:43 +0000https://blog.kroy.io/?p=539#comment-697In reply to Loc.

As mentioned elsewhere, the M2 slot is SDIO, meaning SSDs won’t work.

Yep. It’s SDIO, meaning an SSD won’t work unfortunately.

I’ve ordered one on Ebay to play with and curious if I should order an M.2 SSD in the meantime. I’ve read conflicting reports as to whether this is E-key or B-key slot. ]]> Comment on The Great Rack Migration – D1518 by dlee https://blog.kroy.io/2019/10/07/the-great-rack-migration-d1518/#comment-681 Thu, 02 Apr 2020 13:24:20 +0000https://blog.kroy.io/?p=337#comment-681Hi. Such fun to read your networking insights and the pain going through the process of setting up new servers. You said in one of your migrations post back in 2017, that you won’t ever try to build a 1U rackmount custom build ever again. I am curious, what made you go through this pain all over again? giving secondhand prebuilt servers are cheap nowadays ]]> Comment on A Baby WYSE, the 3040 by Loc https://blog.kroy.io/2020/01/17/the-baby-wyse-the-dell-3040/#comment-677 Wed, 01 Apr 2020 19:02:44 +0000https://blog.kroy.io/?p=539#comment-677Hi,

Have you drop M2 SSD for Dell 3040. I am interested too.

Thanks,

Comment on 10 gigabit inter-VLAN with a Mikrotik RB4011 by Christian Palecel https://blog.kroy.io/2019/09/13/10-gigabit-inter-vlan-with-a-mikrotik-rb4011/#comment-16 Sat, 14 Sep 2019 14:45:30 +0000https://blog.kroy.io/?p=300#comment-16Ipv6 doesn’t use connection tracking at all, therefore fasttrack it is not needed. If you can avoid nat with static subnets, keep fastpath active by avoiding complex firewall rules and queues(there is a list), as well as keep resources low then all of the mikrotiks will perform well. Usually correlating with their clock speed and cpu count. ]]> Comment on 10 gigabit inter-VLAN with a Mikrotik RB4011 by Chris https://blog.kroy.io/2019/09/13/10-gigabit-inter-vlan-with-a-mikrotik-rb4011/#comment-15 Fri, 13 Sep 2019 22:51:27 +0000https://blog.kroy.io/?p=300#comment-15Thanks for sharing. ]]> Comment on 10 gigabit inter-VLAN with a Mikrotik RB4011 by Jørn Madsen https://blog.kroy.io/2019/09/13/10-gigabit-inter-vlan-with-a-mikrotik-rb4011/#comment-14 Fri, 13 Sep 2019 20:35:00 +0000https://blog.kroy.io/?p=300#comment-14Hi
I just bought 2 4011’s (and 2 HaPac2’s),- and startet testing. Beautiful, well made boxes.
I had an RB1100AHx4 running, always thinking it needed a sfp interface,- and then Mikrotik made one with sfp+!! Nice move.
I think the 4011 gonna be a success. It can take a lot of beating (ipv4).
Cheers
